VPA Newsletter

The VPA Newsletter is a document issued by the Victoria Pharmacy Authority (VPA). It provides important information and updates to licensees, pharmacists and pharmacy stakeholders.

The VPA publishes a regular newsletter on its activities and this is distributed by email to licensees, registered premises and VPA stakeholders. The VPA newsletter has important information, updates and resources to support licensees to engage in good regulatory practice and maintain high standards in pharmacy practice. If you wish to receive VPA news items please email your request to enquiries@pharmacy.vic.gov.au.

The VPA previously published a quarterly circular. The VPA Circular has been replaced by the VPA Newsletter. Previous editions of the VPA Circular can be accessed below.

Special Circular - 2 June 2025

The focus of this special circular for licensees is annual licence and registration renewals.

Please ensure you have received your renewal notices and renew by 30 June 2025 to avoid late fees.

The Authority must ensure that its fees are sufficient to fund its activities. In fixing fees, the Authority is always mindful of business costs and regulatory burden on pharmacy businesses and pharmacy departments.

This year’s fee increase is higher than in recent years, however the Authority believes that VPA fees remain reasonable and commensurate with fees in other jurisdictions. Fees in 2025-26 will help deliver new digital systems and regulatory improvements which will ultimately reduce the regulatory burden on licensees and help make the VPA a more efficient, best practice regulator.
