Guidance on pharmacy business ownership, proprietary interests and undue influence

The VPA regulates the ownership and operation of pharmacy businesses under the Pharmacy Regulation Act 2010 (Act).

The VPA has developed a guidance document to better inform licensees, applicants and other stakeholders including franchisors on the requirements of the Act which relate to pharmacy business ownership, proprietary interests and undue influence.

VPA Newsletter No.4 - Premises

The implementation of a new digital system to manage the Authority’s core processes is progressing. Following the recent successful implementation of the annual licence and registration renewals in the new VPA Portal, the current focus of Phase 2 of the project is inspections. Work is also underway to transition applications to the new VPA portal, and this is planned for implementation in the new year.

We look forward to sharing further information as implementation approaches.

VPA Newsletter No. 3

Thank you to all licensees who have already renewed their licences and premises registrations via the new VPA Portal.

We are now in the final week of the ‘late period’ for annual renewals. We remind you that late lodgement fees have been waived for renewals this year to support licensees to transition to the new VPA portal. However, all licences and premises registration renewals must be completed by 28 July, and I urge any licensees to renew at the earliest opportunity if you haven’t already.
